圣高隆（爱尔兰语：Colum、Columkill、Colum Cille、Colm Cille，英语：Saint Columba[1][2][3]，521年12月7日—597年6月9日），又译为圣高隆巴、圣哥伦巴、圣可伦巴、圣科伦巴，又称大高隆巴（拉丁语：Columba Maior），生于爱尔兰多尼戈尔郡，是著名的爱尔兰盖尔族天主教僧侣与修道院院长。圣高隆将基督教传播到皮克特人之中，是将天主教传入苏格兰及爱尔兰的先驱。他在今日的苏格兰爱奥那岛建立了修道院并长居于此，使其成为当时的宗教中心，因此也被称为来自爱奥那的高隆巴（Saint Columba of Iona）。圣高隆在盖尔族与皮克特人中倍受尊崇，被认为是爱尔兰十二使徒之一。[4]
圣高隆的名字Colum Cille在爱尔兰盖尔语中，意思是教会的鸽子，另一个名字Kolban（原始诺尔斯语的名字Kolbjørn）意思是住在山洞中的黑熊。
生平
[编辑]圣高隆出身于一个贵族的家庭，就读于默维尔的芬巴和克洛纳德学校。当他接受圣职之后，他就到处去宣教，并且协助建立伦敦德里和杜罗等地的教堂和修道院。[5] 他在苏格兰西边的爱奥那岛建立了一间修道院，这间修道院差派出许多的宣教士，高隆在苏格兰有很棒的工作，也建立了教会，并将福音传给了在莱茵河以东的日耳曼民族。[6]
高隆是当时最伟大的基督教学者之一，是著名修道院院长和宣教士。他抄写了许多的重要文献，而这些文献也流传到各地。[7]
