美国建筑师学会
美国建筑师学会（英语：American Institute of Architects，缩写：AIA）与英国皇家建筑师学会并称为当今世界最权威的两大建筑师学会。总部位于华盛顿哥伦比亚特区。AIA 的宗旨是为建筑师提供良好的后续教育、社区重建和其他可持续及提升建筑业界规范形像的工作为己任。
历史
1857年，美国还在没有建筑法例和教授关于建筑知识的学院之“创建初期”[1]。后来，以纽约建筑学会（New York Society of Architects）的名义草拟规管建筑业的规范条文，在费城建筑师托马斯·沃特的提议下使用了“美国建筑师学会”的名称，并沿用至今。学会会员于1857年4月15日签署会章宣告学会正式成立。此后，美国各地的建筑师纷纷响应加入学会，至1880年代学会先后在马里兰州、波士顿、芝加哥、辛辛那提、印第安纳波利斯、费城、罗得岛、旧金山、圣路易斯等城市成立分会，迄今已有260个分会，超过9万名全球会员。[1]
