背景
斯威夫特于2019年11月放映了这部纪录片，当时她说她的前唱片公司大机器唱片的所有者和创始人斯库特·布劳恩和斯科特·波切塔阻止了她使用纪录片的旧音乐和表演录像[4]，斯威夫特补充说，纪录片将不会提及布劳恩、波切塔或大机器唱片[5]。 大机器在声明中否认了以上的指控。但事实上，斯威夫特的公关发布了一封来自大机器唱片主管的电子邮件，该电子邮件拒绝发放与纪录片有关的许可证 [6]。12月，综艺杂志报导说，大机器清除了影片中使用斯威夫特的旧素材的可能性[7]。
