丝衣，服饰，由丝绸制成，最早见于中国，因其复杂的工艺，和特有的手感与光泽，最早只有帝王才能使用。

流行

从1世纪起罗马人开始狂热的迷恋着从阿萨息斯王朝、贵霜帝国和阿克苏姆帝国手中转手取得的中国丝绸。“赛利斯人们（中国人）以从他们的树林中获取这种毛织品而闻名于世。他们将从树上摘下的丝绸浸泡在水中，再将白色的树叶一一梳落。（丝绸的）生产需要如此多的劳役，而它们又来自于地球的彼方，这令罗马的少女们可以身着半透明的丝衣在大陆街上炫耀。”[1]。
