红鼻子驯鹿鲁道夫
红鼻子驯鹿鲁道夫（Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer）是一只虚构的驯鹿。牠有一个发光的红鼻子，常被称为“圣诞老人的第九只驯鹿”，是在平安夜为圣诞老人拉雪橇的带头驯鹿。牠鼻子发出的亮光能够在风雪中照亮全队所走的路途。
驯鹿鲁道夫的名字最初在1939年由Robert L. May为百货公司Montgomery Ward编写的填色册上出现。[1][2][3]
著名的圣诞歌红鼻子驯鹿鲁道夫就是取材自驯鹿鲁道夫的故事，在1949年推出。[4]
鲁道夫的性别未知，因为根据驯鹿的资料，驯鹿是一种无论雌雄都有角的动物，并且雄性驯鹿的角通常在11月份左右就脱落，所以在12月份也就是圣诞节的时候，能够为圣诞老人完成工作又拥有角的驯鹿更可能是一只雌鹿。
故事
[编辑]鲁道夫因为牠那罕见的发光红鼻子而受到其他驯鹿的嘲笑和排挤。在某个平安夜，圣诞老人派送礼物时遇上大雾，圣诞老人注意到鲁道夫的发光红鼻子可以帮忙，请求鲁道夫带头拉雪橇。鲁道夫答应了，帮助圣诞老人在那个晚上完成任务，其他驯鹿从此对牠改观，大家都喜爱牠。
