约翰·格林里夫·惠蒂埃（John Greenleaf Whittier，1807年12月17日—1892年9月7日）是一位美国贵格会诗人、废奴主义者，以其作品《大雪封门》出名。
生平
约翰·格林里夫·惠蒂埃出生于麻省黑弗里尔的郊区，在自家的农场里长大。[1]
19岁那年，他的姐姐将他的诗《The Exile's Departure》寄给麻省的自由出版社（Free Press），该出版社的编辑威廉·劳埃德·加里森在1826年6月8日将其出版，这是他出版的第一首作品[2]。后来加里森先后将他介绍给波士顿的《全国慈善家》（National Philanthropist）、《美国制造商》（American Manufacturer）当编辑。工作中他渐渐开始对政治产生兴趣，终于在1830年代开始加入废奴主义运动。[3]
他在1860年和1864年美国大选中都是选举人，投票给亚伯拉罕·林肯[4]。
他的名作《大雪封门》在1866年出版，并获得商业上的成功，第一版就赚了一万美金[5]。1870年，他入选美国哲学学会[6]。
