第五战区冬季作战，指中国抗日战争期间，国民政府军事委员会在1939年冬季所发动的冬季攻势中，第五战区国军对湖北省日军的攻势行动。
1939年12月12日至1940年1月28日，第五战区奉命向鄂北汉口、信阳一带日军发动攻势。第一期作战为12月12日至12月20日期间，国军江北兵团渡河攻占罗汉寺附近据点，右集团军攻占王家岭等地。第二期作战为12月20日至12月28日期间，日军进行增援，江北兵团撤守襄河西岸。
第三期作战为次年1月1日至1月28日期间，日军第3师团朝国军展开攻势，豫南兵团被迫退至小林店一带。1月20日国军收复高城、万家居。1月28日，军委会电令国军停止攻势。
此役日军作战伤亡极大，仅日军第3师团下辖的野战重炮兵第1旅团（文件笔误为野战重炮兵第1联队，实则第3师团仅有野战重炮兵第1旅团而无野战重炮兵第1联队）就因为须补足因冬季攻势而阵亡与重伤后送所造成的缺额（轻伤者应不在补充范围）而一次接收236名补充人员（而日军步兵之伤亡则肯定远高于包括炮兵在内的其他单位，故这批补充人员只反映日军第3师团相当小的一部分缺额）[1]。
