新鸟臀类（Neornithischia）是鸟臀目恐龙的一个演化支，属于颌齿类，是装甲类的姊妹分类单元。新鸟臀类的特征是下颌牙齿有一层不对称的厚珐琅质。牠们的牙齿咀嚼时磨损不平均，并发展出锐利的脊状，可让角足龙类比其他鸟臀目恐龙切碎更坚硬的植物。
分类
[编辑]在1985年，新鸟臀类这个名称首次被提出，范围包含：所有颌齿类恐龙里，亲缘关系接近于沃克氏副栉龙，而离大面甲龙、狭脸剑龙较远的所有物种[1]。
