生物转化
生物转化（biotransformation）又称代谢转化(metabolic transformation)，是化合物在体内经酵素催化或非酵素作用下所发生的生化修饰过程。生物转化能借由全细胞、其裂解液或纯化后的酵素来进行[1]。在药理学，也指药物在发挥药效后要排出体外时，所产生的结构改变。
毒性化学物质若是水溶性物质，则可由肾脏排出。若为脂溶性物质，则需要经过代谢过程后才能够由肾脏排出。目的是将非极性的物质，转变成为极性的物质；脂溶性高的转化成脂溶性低的物质，以便被肾脏过滤或分泌排出去。而肝脏是体内负责生物转化作用最主要的器官。
