玛格瑙拉宫
玛格瑙拉宫（希腊语：Μαγναύρα，可能来源于拉丁语的“Magna Aula”，意为“大厅堂”[1]）是君士坦丁堡的一座大型建筑，毗邻大皇宫[2]。它被学者们等同为元老院的建筑。玛格瑙拉宫位于奥古斯塔广场以东，临近圣索菲亚教堂且紧挨着铜门。普罗柯比描述称有一座巨大的门，或许是由大理石制成，通向一处列柱中庭，再从这个院子通往玛格瑙拉宫。
该建筑是一座有着三座中殿的巴西利卡，后来被用作金銮殿以及外国使馆的接待厅。皇帝在此举行大型集会，尤其是在西侧的中庭区域[3]。例如每年一度的“silention”（意为“沉默”），或者是大斋期开始的仪式，全体皇室成员和官僚都沿着玛格瑙拉宫的大台阶排列开来[3]。学者将其描述为拜占庭帝国对普世之中所有事物的皇权的物质投射[4]。
约855年，“凯撒”巴尔达斯在殿中建立了一座学校“ekpaideutērion”。不过需注意其并非狄奥多西二世于425年建立的君士坦丁堡大学，而是一所哲学院校。
