历史
特洛伊始建于1855年[8]。城市名以古希腊时期的城邦特洛伊为名[9]。特洛伊境内首栋住宅建于1856年，首间商店则于1857年开始营业。特洛伊在1860年成为一座已建制的城市[10]。特洛伊首间邮政局于1857年3月16日开设[11]。
英国探险家理查德·弗朗西斯·伯顿在1860年前往至加州的旅途中说道：“经过了几个凄惨简陋的小屋称作特洛伊...”（"Passing through a few wretched shanties called Troy ..."）[12]。
地理
