燃油税，又称燃料税，是一种直接税及消费税，主要可分为汽油税、柴油税两种。汽油税是针对汽油消费者而征收的税款，目的是引导汽车司机的消费行为。例如，经济学原理，加汽油税可以减少浪费，改善环保。

汽油税是经济课题，又是政治问题，政党为选民争取免费午餐（减油税），库房损失由其他纳税人加税补偿，财富转移。
