潜伏特工

潜伏特工指的是安插在目标国家或组织内不参加直接任务，但活动的时候作为潜在人才使用的间谍。甚至不活动的时候，“潜伏特工”仍作为一个人才，且仍在活跃的时候凭借和睦相处在煽动叛乱（英语：Sedition）、叛国或间谍活动扮演积极作用。潜伏特工是小说中受欢迎的密谋手段，尤其是在间谍小说和科幻小说中。
