比莫贝特卡石窟是位于印度中央邦赖森县的一片石窟，2003年被UNESCO选为世界文化遗产。其名“比莫贝特卡”（भीमबेटका）源自印度教英雄人物怖军，而这个词完整的意思即“怖军所坐之処”（भीमबैठका）。[1]
这座石窟是印度次大陆最早的人类活动证据，确定了南亚石器时代初期的开始时间。其中一些石窟存在公元前十万年直立人生活的迹象[2]，而最早的岩画则可追溯到三万年前[3]，这些岩画还是最早的人类舞蹈的证据。比莫贝特卡石窟的考古证据最早来自1888年阿迪瓦西人的叙述，当时被当作是一个佛教遗址。印度考古学家V·S·瓦坎卡（V. S. Wakankar）在1957年将其重新发掘出来[4]。
