橙胸绿鸠（学名：Treron bicinctus）为鸠鸽科绿鸠属的鸟类，俗名橙胸鸠、赤胸绿鸠。分布范围西起巴基斯坦、印度、斯里兰卡，东至中南半岛、海南岛、台湾，南抵马来半岛及爪哇岛，多栖息于热带雨林中以及栖息于树顶的秃枝上。该物种的模式产地在印度代利杰以南的海岸。[2]

外观上与黄脚绿鸠(Yellow-footed green pigeon)跟灰头绿鸠(grey-fronted green pigeon)非常相似 ，但两翼没有褐红色。雄鸟的头部不带任何灰色，但在胸前有淡紫色与橘色的色带，淡紫色带在上部宽度较窄，而下部的橘色带较宽。尾羽底面覆羽呈浅红褐色，尾端边缘黄色。尾羽上方为灰色，末端暗带较宽。
雌鸟腹部是黄色的，没有橙色或淡紫色的色带。尾羽的底面是暗淡的浅红褐色，带有绿色斑点。而尾羽上面的中央羽毛呈暗灰色而不是绿色，此点与灰额绿鸠(T. affinis)或灰头绿鸠(T. pompadora)的雌鸟不同。[3]
斯里兰卡亚种（T. b。leggei）的两翼长度较短，但其他方面相似[4][5][6][7]。其他被命名为亚种的种群包括海南岛的domvilii（Swinhoe，1870），[8] 爪哇和峇厘岛的javana(Robinson & Kloss, 1923)。泰国的种群则一直列在亚种候选名单中。[9]
分布与栖地
[编辑]橙胸绿鸠是一种森林物种，在印度德赖平原和喜马拉雅山以南（1500 m以下）皆有广泛分布。主要分布在西高止山脉和东高止山脉之间，以及斯里兰卡距海岸不远处的森林中[10]。
此物种亦可发现于缅甸、泰国、马来半岛、越南、爪哇和海南岛。据信此种会有季节性迁移，例如巴基斯坦的信德省（Sind）曾有流鸟纪录。[4][11]
习性

单独或成群活动，飞行路线直而快速，规律的振翅，偶而杂有尖锐的拍击声，这是鸠鸽类共有的特征。
以各类植物种子跟果实为食，会在树枝上以缓慢行走的方式觅食。已知会食用马兜铃(Strychnos nux-vomica)的果实,这种果实对哺乳动物有毒。有时亦可见于地面觅食。
叫声类似一系列低调婉转的哨声。在繁殖季节，雄性会以翅膀拍击对方，并互啄攻击。在印度，繁殖季节为3月至9月，但主要在6月之前。在斯里兰卡，主要在12月至次年的5月繁殖。巢是脆弱而简单的平台，只以几段小树枝构筑，每巢会产下两个白色的蛋。雌雄都会抱卵孵蛋，约12到14天孵化。[4][12]
