杨英洋(英语:Yeung Ying Yeung,1980年)是香港年青科学家。

杨英洋就读余振强纪念中学,2001年毕业于香港中文大学化学系,2005年于哈佛大学跟随诺贝尔化学奖得主科里(Elias James Corey)进行研究,2006年发现石油副产品可制造出一种与流感药特敏福一样的合成化学物,可以取代八角,令抗流感病毒药物得以大量生产。

传统上,若要制作特敏福,先要从八角提炼莽草酸(shikimic acid),整个生产过程多达14个步骤,并需使用一种具爆炸性的化合物,故每次只能生产很少的分量。杨英洋的研究利用丁二烯及丙烯酸三氟乙酯(丙烯酸三氟乙醇酯化合物)成为起始化合物,并以11个生产步骤制成与特敏福一样的有机合成化学物,可避开爆炸危机。 [1]

新物料生产时亦只涉及11个步骤,产率30%,亦即100%原料中,30%可成为药物有效成分,若以传统方法提炼莽草酸制药,则涉及14 个步骤,产量为15%。 

有关研究2006年于《美国化学学会期刊》(Journal of American Chemical Society)发表,但杨英洋并无申请专利,并容许其他科学家及药厂参考该合成物的结构及步骤来制药。2006年,香港一盒10粒特敏福售价约180港元,被视为一种能治疗禽流感的特效药,令各国政府争相抢购,但因产量所限,全球供应均出现短缺。科里预期该科研成可望令特敏福供应量大增,短期内降低售价。

杨英洋曾于新加坡国立大学任教,现已回到母校香港中文大学任教化学。
