分类学
本属由英国鸟类学家威廉·亨利·赛克斯于1832年为荷兰动物学家康拉德·雅各·特明克所描述的Fringilla nisoria等三个物种建立的属名。[2][3]现该物种为瑞典生物学家卡尔·林奈于1758年所命名的斑文鸟中的一个亚种。[2][3]1890年，英国鸟类学家理察·鲍德勒·夏普将模式种指定为斑文鸟。[1]其属名Lonchura由希腊语lonkhē（意为“矛头”或“长矛”）和oura（意为“尾巴”）组合而成。[4]
