2023年4月26日，波特兰拓荒者宣布他们将在2023-24赛季组建一支NBA G联盟球队[2][3][4]，并于6月15日聘请吉姆·莫兰担任他们的第一位教练[5]。6月26日，团队的标志和名称被揭晓为“撕裂之城混音”[6][7]。
