必需品在经济学概念中，被认为是无论收入水平如何变化，消费者都会购买的财货，需求的收入弹性≤1，因此使这些财货对收入变化不那么敏感，缺乏弹性的需求。

一般食物、自来水、衣服、饮料等，医疗，电都是必需品；汽车、保险、汽油、高级餐馆等，则是非必需品。
