山案座αAlpha Mensae)是山案座的最亮恒星,视星等5.09,是所有星座最亮星中最暗的。

概要

山案座α是一颗黄矮星,半径、温度和光度都稍低于太阳,但质量比太阳稍高。它的赤纬代表它适合在南半球高纬度区域观测;虽然在靠近赤道的北半球低纬度在山案座α过中天附近时也可观测到。

山案座α在天球上的自行较高,距离太阳约33光年。目前尚未发现它有行星,但已经发现有一颗天球上距离3.05角秒(大约30天文单位)的红矮星伴星[2][7][8]
