小溪县是南朝梁东遂宁郡所属的一个羁縻县。西魏改县名方义县，宋太平兴国初又改名小溪县[1]，其辖地在今四川省遂宁市[2]。元代仍属遂宁府，至元十九年，并遂宁县、青石县二县入小溪县[3]。明玉珍省州治小溪县入遂宁州[4]。
