寄宿学校（英语：Boarding school）是种学生（可能还有教师）共同住在校舍内学习的学校体制。共和联邦国家的许多公学都是寄宿学校，学生在寄宿学校的时间从1年到12年，或者更久。寄宿学校的学生可能只会在假期回家，在跟监护人分开的情况下度过童年、青春期。在美国，寄宿学校通常为7到12年级，主要为中学阶段。大部分寄宿学校也有通勤生（day students），他们通常是该社区的居民或教职员工的孩子。某些美国的寄宿学校是为了进行军事训练。^[1]
