13P／奥伯斯彗星（13P/Olbers）是太阳系内的一颗周期彗星，符合哈雷型彗星（20年＜周期＜200年）的经典定义。
物理性质
[编辑]奥伯斯在1815年3月6日在德国的不来梅发现这颗彗星。它的轨道最早是由卡尔·弗里德里希·高斯在3月31日算出的，弗里德里希·威廉·贝塞尔 算出它的轨道周期为73.9儒略年，而其它的天文学佳算出的结果则介于72和77儒略年之间。
1956年
[编辑]1956年1月4日，捷克天文学家安东宁·姆尔科斯重新发现这颗彗星。 随后，彗星位于波江座，其视星等估计为16等。他在麦克唐纳天文台于1955年11月12日拍摄的照片中找到这颗彗星[4] 。这颗彗星于1956年6月19日经过近日点，视星等达到6.5等，彗尾长约1度[5]。
2024年
[编辑]2023 年8月24日，美国天文学家艾伦·海尔在赛丁泉的拉斯昆布雷斯天文台（Las Cumbres Observatory）重新发现这颗彗星，随后又发现8月13日拍摄的彗星影像。 据估计，这颗彗星的视星等约为22等[6] [7]。2023年11月16日，这颗彗星与太阳的角度为139度。彗星将在 2024年6月30日到达近日点[8] ，届时它将距离太阳1.18天文单位，距离地球1.94天文单位，预计亮度将增加至视星等7−8等左右。
流星雨
[编辑]有人猜测[9] 13P／奥伯斯彗星会在火星上产生来自大犬座的军市一（大犬座贝塔星）为辐射点的流星雨。
