[编辑]2021年11月12日，Disney+公布会将东尼·狄特里奇和荷莉·布莱克创作的小说系列《奇幻精灵事件簿》改编成电视剧，由阿伦·伊莱·科莱特担任创作人，派拉蒙电视工作室和 第二十电视公司联合出品[9]。该作于2022年2月开始前期制作[10]。同年5月，凯特·寇伊若宣布出任执行制作人并会执导首两集[11]。
克利斯汀·史莱特于2022年8月宣布出演魔格幻夫（Mulgarath），但该角色预计将会只于第一季出现[3]。莱昂·丹尼尔斯（Lyon Daniels）、诺亚·科特雷（Noah Cottrell） 和乔伊·布兰特也在同月宣布出演[5][6]。米哈拉·费丝·李（Mychala Lee） 则在9月中宣布饰演美洛·葛雷斯（Mallory Grace）[7]。
该作的主体拍摄工作于2022年9月12日在加拿大温哥华开始，并预计在2023年1月27日煞科[2]。
