太平洋大口石首鱼为辐鳍鱼纲鲈形目鲈亚目石首鱼科的其中一种，分布东太平洋区，从墨西哥至秘鲁海域，栖息深度29-50米，体长可达32公分，栖息在沿海海域，属肉食性，以浮游性甲壳类为食，可做为食用鱼。
