天坛阵列

天坛阵列(英语:Askaryan Radio Array,缩写:ARA)是一种设计作为侦测每年只能侦测到极少数的GZK极限微中子的微中子侦测阵列。该阵列量测的是微中子和南极冰棚的冰交互作用时发射出的增益无线电波。该侦测器是基于前苏联亚美尼亚物理学家古尔根·阿斯卡良英语Gurgen Askaryan提出的阿斯卡莱恩效应进行侦测[1][2]

该侦测技术也用于南极瞬态脉冲天线(Antarctic Impulse Transient Antenna, ANITA)和无线电波冰层契伦可夫实验(Radio Ice Cerenkov Experiment, RICE)的侦测器。ARA 的仪器将建立在冰立方微中子天文台周围,覆盖范围达到100平方公里。

中文名称由来

该阵列的英文缩写ARA与南天星座天坛座的缩写相同,因此中文命名为“天坛阵列”[3]
