褐几维（学名：Apteryx australis，中国大陆作褐几维，台湾作南方褐鹬鸵），又名大奇威鸟，是无翼属下的一种鸟类。[5]这个物种栖息在密集的高大的树木组成的森林中。褐几维体重2320.51克，翼长0.1毫米，嘴峰长126.4毫米，喙宽度4.7毫米，喙厚度5.8毫米，跗跖长67毫米，尾长0.1毫米。褐几维在其分布区内为留鸟，其食性为肉食性，主要食物来源是陆生无脊椎动物。[6]分布于新西兰南岛地区，视觉差，但听觉良好，嗅觉也极为良好，鼻孔长在鸟喙末端。过去的观点认为大奇威鸟与分布于新西兰北岛的北岛褐几维是同种，至今仍有部分分类学者持这样的观点。
