埃克斯摩尔野兽
埃克斯摩尔野兽（英文：Beast of Exmoor）是出没于英国森麻实郡与德文郡埃克斯摩尔地区的幻影猫。埃克斯摩尔野兽首次报道于20世纪70年代，并于1983年大肆活跃，猎杀了约100只绵羊。[1]在这场袭击后不久，为阻止袭击进一步扩大，英国农业、渔业与食品部（Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food，简写：MAFF）下令英国皇家海军陆战队派出狙击手猎杀这只神秘野兽。虽然在搜捕中一些海军陆战队队员有目击埃克斯摩尔野兽的踪影，但为防止子弹误伤居民与牲畜，因此并未有开枪射击。[2]有观点认为埃克斯摩尔野兽是一只美洲狮或其它大型猫科动物，反对者则认为埃克斯摩尔野兽只是被目击者误判的家猫或狗。[3]
