哈雷舰队
哈雷舰队（Halley Armada）是1986年哈雷彗星接近近日点前后，对该彗星进行探测的五个（部分说法称六个）空间探测器的广被接受和使用的名称[1]。该“舰队”由一个欧洲空间局的探测器、两个苏联和法国合作的探测器，和两个日本宇宙科学研究所的探测器组成。如果没有其他空间探测器的资料，其中的乔托号将无法以596公里的近距离接近哈雷彗星的彗核[2]。

原定的太空探测计划
- 联盟T-15的任一组员也许在第一次和平号太空站任务中于1986年3月观测哈雷彗星，但状况不明。
- 美国原订在挑战者号航天飞机的STS-51-L和STS-61-E航天飞机任务中由太空人在航天飞机中观测哈雷彗星来参与此次天文盛况。STS-61-E 原计划以哥伦比亚号航天飞机携带 ASTRO-1 天文观测平台进行任务。但挑战者号航天飞机灾难后任务取消[8]。
