厚椎龙属（学名：Pachystropheus）是种已灭绝爬行动物，可能属于离龙目，生存于三叠纪晚期（诺利阶）的英格兰南部。在1935年，德国古生物学家弗雷德里克·冯·休尼（Friedrich von Huene）将牠们命名为厚椎龙属，当时归类于离龙目；属名意为“厚的脊椎”[1]。长期以来，厚椎龙受到古动物学界的忽视，直到1993年才被重新研究。如果厚椎龙属于离龙目，将使离龙类的化石纪录提早4500万年[2]。另有其他研究人员提出质疑，认为厚椎龙的脊椎、肩带等特征，可发现于其他水生爬行动物，并非离龙目所独有[3]。离龙目的大部分可鉴定特征来自于头颅骨，由于目前没有发现厚椎龙的头颅骨化石，难以确定厚椎龙属于离龙目[4]。另有研究人员发现，厚椎龙的身体特征，类似海龙目的埃登那龙。这些类似特征显示厚椎龙、埃登那龙可能是近亲，但也有可能是适应水生生活的趋同演化结果[5]。
