丝芙兰（SEPHORA）于1970年在法国巴黎成立，主营连锁化妆品店铺，1997年并入酩悦·轩尼诗－路易·威登集团（LVMH - Moët Hennessy · Louis Vuitton S.A.）。其北美总部位于旧金山，在纽约及蒙特利尔设有办事处。[4][5]
概况
Sephora一名源于"sephos"（希腊语，意为“美丽”）[来源请求]与Zipporah（亦作Σεπφώρα）的合并，后者系《出埃及记》中拥有绝世容颜的摩西之妻的名讳。[1] Sephora的标识为一朵跃动于黑色背景中的"S"形火焰。
2014年11月18日，一项针对Sephora及母公司LVMH的诉讼被提起，指控其经营中存在种族歧视倾向，即主观定性亚裔消费者为“折扣期间大宗囤货的转售人员”。[6]
历史
1998年，Sephora在美国境内的首个门店于纽约开业。2004年，落址多伦多的第一家加拿大Sephora铺面开始营业。[7][8]目前Sephora在北美地区的门店已逾360家[7],持有品牌数目超过200，经营范围囊括化妆品、护肤、美体、香氛、彩妆及护发剂。[9] [5][10]
Sephora分别自1999年与2003年起向美国和加拿大客户提供线上购物途径[7]。截至2013年，Sephora在全世界30个国家中已拥有1700家以上的店铺，年创收40亿美元（数据出自福布斯）[5][11]。截至2013年9月，位于法国巴黎香榭丽舍街道（Champs Élysées）的Sephora门店每年所吸引的人流量已逾600万人次。[12]
2000年，Sephora斥资“六位数金额”购得在线化妆品、饰品和珠宝零售商eve.com名下的部分资产[13][14]。
2010年，Sephora被女装日报（Women's Wear Daily）评为年度专业零售商[15][16]。
2014年1月1日，Calvin McDonald接任David Sulitean出任美国Sephora首席执行官一职，Sulitean继而进入一家LVMH旗下的风投企业Kendo Brand担任同等职位[17]。
2019年4月1日，品牌相隔10年重临香港，以月租200万预租中环国际金融中心商场—个面积约4,000余平方呎的铺位。[18]
订阅服务
2015年8月，Sephora宣布推出Play! By Sephora服务，每月向顾客寄送一个价值10美元、由五件产品组成的礼盒[19]。产品内容包括护肤、美妆或美发产品中样。礼盒产品是根据用户个人资料档案有所针对性的选出。新服务9月在波士顿、哥伦布和辛辛那提试行[20]。2016年，订阅服务正式在美国各州进行。直到2018年，订阅服务只在美国提供。
品牌
Sephora销售包括NARS, Make Up For Ever, Urban Decay, Sunday Riley Skincare, Tatcha Aburatorigami,[21], Too Faced Cosmetics等在内、总数超过百位的美妆品牌。Sephora亦有自己的化妆、 护肤、 美容工具和配件。此系列的包装上均印有Sephora以黑色为背景的细长火焰徽标。
2013年，Sephora的香水系列Mary-Kate, Ashley Olsen及化妆系列产品Marc Jacobs首次亮相[22]。
