年號

年號者，紀年之號也。履端于始，序則不愆。自三代之際，五行更王。雖三統循環，迭舉歲首。至於紀年標曆，未聞他制。逮漢之文景，始有前後之稱。施及孝武，肇創建元之號。厥後或章述德美，昭著祥異。或弭災厭勝，計功稱伐。或一號而不易，或一歲而屢改。其有矯時遵古，但紀歲曆者，亦不遠而復。斯乃前王，因時立制，後代沿襲，而不可易者也。
