Reynolds soni — statsionar oqayotgan bir qancha suyuqlik (gaz) lar oqimlarining oʻxshashlik mezonlaridan biri; suyuklik kinetik energiyasini ishqalanish kuchini yengishdagi bajarilgan ishga nisbatini ifodalaydigan oʻlchamsiz kattalik. Reynolds soni suyuklikning inersiya va ichki ishqalanish kuchlari orasidagi munosabatni aniqlaydi. Koʻpgina hollarda statsionar oqayotgan suyukliklar uchun Reynolds soni bir xil qiymatga ega boʻlsa, bunday suyukliklar gidromexanik oʻxshash suyuqliklarni tashkil etadi. Gidrodinamik oʻxshash suyuqliklarda oqim tasnifi ham, albatta, bir xil boʻladi. Bu qonundan kemasozlik va samolyotsozlik sanoatida keng foydalaniladi. Kema va samolyotlar asl nusxasini sinovdan oʻtkazish oʻrniga ularning kattaliklari bir necha marta kichraytirilgan modellarni sinovdan oʻtkazib tegishli xulosa chikariladi. Ingliz fizigi va muhandisi O. Reynolde (1842—1912) sharafiga qoʻyilgan.[1]
