Dastlabki musobaqa Amerika Qoʻshma Shtatlarida 1874-yilda o‘tkazilgan. O‘yinchilar yuziga niqob tutib, yelka, ko‘krak va butun gavdani himoya qiluvchi moslamalar kiyib harakat qiladilar. Raqibni to‘xtatish, uni chim ustiga bosib, yo‘lini to‘sish uchun deyarli barcha usullarni qo‘llashga ruxsat beriladi.
