Pselaphinae, Staphylinidae familyasına bağlı bir altfamilyadır.[2] Pselaphidae başlangıçta ayrı bir familya olarak kabul edilse de; 1995'te Newton ve Thayer,[3] morfolojik benzerliklerine dayanarak Staphylinidae familyasına bağlı Omaliine altfamilyasına dahil etti.
