Üropigial bez, kuşların çoğunda bulunan çift loblu bir yağ bezidir. Kuyruğun dorsalında yer alır ve çeşitli boyut ve şekildedir. Bazı türlerde üzeri tüyle kaplı olabildiği gibi genellikle tüysüzdür. Bağ dokudan oluşan bir kapsülle çevrili, genellikle iki olmak üzere çok sayıda açıklığa bağlı ortak toplayıcı bir kanala yağlı salgılarını bırakan ve gözeleri ayrışarak salgı yapan bir bezdir. Her lobun merkezî boşluğu çevresinde radyal olarak yerleşmiş kanalcıklardan salgılanan salgı ortadaki boşlukta toplanır. Bu salgı deri dışına ucu meme şeklinde bir yapıyla açılan kanallar yardımıyla ulaşır.[1]
Latince uropygium kelimesine Antik Yunanca οὐροπύγιον (ouropugion) kelimesinden geçmiştir. Antik Yunanca οὐρά (oura) "kuyruk" ve πυγή (puge) "but" anlamına gelir.
