โอม
โอม (, ไอเอเอสที: Oṃ, เทวนาครี: ॐ, กันนาดา: ಓಂ, ทมิฬ: ௐ, มลยาฬัม: ഓം, เตลูกู: ఓం) เป็นหนึ่งในประติมานวิทยาที่พบในศาสนาฮินดู ศาสนาพุทธ ศาสนาเชน ตั้งแต่ยุคโบราณและยุคเก่า ในงานเขียน วิหาร[1][2] โอมเป็นสัญลักษณ์ที่มีความหมายในเชิงจิตวิญญาณในทุกศาสนาอินเดีย (ฮินดู พุทธ ไชนะ และ ซิกข์) ส่วนความหมายเฉพาะและความหมายแฝงแตกต่างกันไปตามคำสอนและศาสนา ความเชื่อของแต่ละกลุ่ม
พยางค์ “โอม” บางครั้งก็ถูกเรียกว่า “องการ” (ओङ्कार, oṅkāra), “อณการ” (ओंकार, oṃkāra) และ “ปรณวะ” (प्रणव, praṇava)[3][4]
