జావా, ఇండోనేషియాలోని ఆగ్నేయ మలేషియా, సుమత్రా, బోర్నియో (కాలిమంటన్), పశ్చిమ బాలికి దక్షిణాన ఉన్న ద్వీపం. ఇండోనేషియా రాజధాని జకార్తా కూడా ఇక్కడే ఉంది. అగ్నిపర్వత విస్ఫోటనాల వల్ల ఏర్పడిన ఈ ద్వీపం ప్రపంచంలోని 13వ అతిపెద్ద ద్వీపం, ఇంకా ఇండోనేషియాలో 5వ అతిపెద్ద ద్వీపం. ఒకప్పుడు హిందూ రాజులు, తరువాత డచ్ ఈస్ట్ ఇండియా కంపెనీచే ఆధిపత్యం చెలాయించిన జావా దీవి, 1930-140 కాల వ్యవధిలో, ఈ ద్వీపం ఇండోనేషియా స్వాతంత్ర్య ఉద్యమానికి కేంద్రంగా కూడా ఉంది.[1] ఇప్పుడు ఇండోనేషియా ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థ, రాజకీయాలలో ముఖ్యమైన పాత్ర పోషిస్తోంది. జపనీస్ ద్వీపం హోమ్షు తర్వాత ప్రపంచంలో రెండవ అత్యధిక జనాభా కలిగిన ద్వీపంగా మారింది. 2020 జనాభా లెక్కల ప్రకారం 151.6 మిలియన్ల జనాభాతో (మదురా యొక్క 4.0 మిలియన్లతో సహా), జావా ప్రపంచంలోనే అత్యధిక జనాభా కలిగిన ప్రధాన ద్వీపం. బంగ్లాదేశ్తో సమానంగా ప్రపంచంలోని అత్యంత జనసాంద్రత కలిగిన ప్రాంతాలలో ఇది కూడా ఒకటి. ద్వీపంలోని ప్రతి ప్రాంతంలో అనేక అగ్నిపర్వతాలు ఉన్నాయి. ఇండోనేషియా జనాభాలో సుమారు 56% మంది ఇక్కడ నివసిస్తున్నారు. జావా మొత్తం భూభాగం 138,794 చ.కి.మీ. ఈ ద్వీపం తూర్పు నుండి పడమర వరకు 1,064 కి.మీ పొడవు, కానీ కేవలం 100 నుండి 160 కి.మీ వెడల్పు మాత్రమే.[2] ఇది మూడు ప్రధాన భాషలను కలిగి ఉంది, జావానీస్ ఆధిపత్య భాష. ఇది ఇండోనేషియా 60 మిలియన్ల ప్రజల మాతృభాష. జావాలో అత్యధిక జనాభా ముస్లింలు అయినప్పటికీ, జావా మత విశ్వాసాలు, సంప్రదాయాలు, సంస్కృతి మిశ్రమాన్ని కలిగి ఉంది.
చరిత్ర
[మార్చు]జావా దీవిలో వ్యవసాయం మొదటిసారిగా ఆచరించబడింది. కొన్ని అధ్యాయనాల ప్రకారం ఇది 2500 BCE, [2] నాటిది జావానీస్ ప్రజలు ఎక్కువగా వలస వచ్చిన వారి సంతతికి చెందినవారు. క్రీ.పూ 4000 నుండి అలలలో ద్వీపంలో స్థిరపడ్డారు. క్రీ.పూ 2000 నుండి క్రమంగా వ్యవసాయం అభివృద్ధి చెంది దక్షిణప్రాంతంతో వాణిజ్యం జరిగింది. భారతదేశ పరిచయం తీరప్రాంత రాజ్యాలలో హిందూ మతాన్ని స్వీకరించడానికి దారితీసింది. ఆగ్నేయ ఆసియా బౌద్ధమతం కూడా ఒక ప్రభావం చూపుతూ అభివృద్ధి చెందింది. ఇక్కడి ప్రజలు పాత నమ్మకాలతో పాటు హిందూ మతం వైపు మొగ్గు చూపారు. క్రీ.శ 732 లో సంజయ అనే హిందూ రాజు జావాలోని మాతరం రాజ్యాన్ని స్థాపించాడు, 4వ, 16వ శతాబ్దాల మధ్య, జావాలో హిందూ-బౌద్ధ రాజ్యాలు ఏర్పడ్డాయి.[3] 16వ శతాబ్దం చివరలో జావాలో ఇస్లాం ఆధిపత్య మతంగా మారింది.
