தேற்றம்

தேற்றம் (theorem) என்பது கணிதவியலில் நிறுவப்பட்ட ஒரு கருத்து ஆகும். ஏற்கெனவே நிறுவப்பட்ட வேறோரு தேற்றத்தைப் பயன்படுத்தியும் தர்க்க ரீதியில் புதிய தேற்றங்கள் நிறுவப்படுகின்றன. தேற்றங்கள் இரண்டு பகுதிகளால் ஆனவை. முதல் பகுதி கொள்கைப் பகுதி. இரண்டாம் பகுதி முடிவுகள் பகுதி.
கருதுகோள்களுக்கும் தேற்றங்களுக்கும் பெரிய வித்தியாசம் உண்டு. தேற்றங்கள் தர்க்க அடிப்படையிலானவை. கருதுகோள்களோ அனுபவ அடிப்படையிலானவை.[1]
பித்தாகரஸ் தேற்றம் பரவலாக அறியப்பட்ட ஒன்றாகும். குறைந்தது 370 சான்றுகளைக் கொண்டு இத்தேற்றத்தை நிறுவ முடியும்.[2]
