இருமுனைப் போர்
இருமுனைப் போர் (Two-front war) என்பது ஒரு நாடு அல்லது கூட்டணி ஒரே நேரத்தில் இரு வேறு இடங்களில் வெவேறு எதிரிகளுடன் போர் நிகழ்த்துவதைக் குறிக்கிறது. இத்தகு போரில் ஈடுபடுவதால் ஏதேனும் ஒரு முனையில் கவனம் செலுத்த முடியாமல் படைகளும், போர் முயற்சியும் பிளவுபடுகிறது. இதனால் இரு முனைகளிலும் வெற்றி வாய்ப்பு குறைகிறது. மேல்நிலை உத்தியளவில் இருமுனைப் போர்களில் ஈடுபடுவது தவிர்க்கப்படவேண்டுமென்பது போரியல் உத்தியாளர்களின் பரிந்துரை.[1][2][3]
வரலாற்றில் பல முறை ஒரு நாடு இருமுனைப் போரில் ஈடுபட்ட எடுத்துக் காட்டுகள் உள்ளன. உரோமைப் பேரரசு இரண்டாவது ஃபொனீசியப் போரில் கார்தேஜுடனும் முதலாம் மாசிடோனியப் போரில் மாக்கடோனியவுடனும் போரிட்டது இதற்கு ஒரு எடுத்துக்காட்டு. மேலும் முதலாம் நெப்போலியனின் ஐரோப்பியப் போர்கள், முதலாம் மற்றும் இரண்டாம் உலகப் போர்களில் ஜெர்மனி ஈடுபட்ட போர்கள் இருமுனைப் போருக்கு பிற எடுத்துக்காட்டுகள்.
