Torus och toroid är uppenbarligen två närbesläktade begrepp, men, efter vad jag förstår, inte synonymer. En sajberblomma till den som kan lägga till en förklaring om hur de hänger ihop, eller kanske snarare på vilket sätt de skiljer sig. Enligt Mathworld är en toroid den rotationsyta som uppstår då en sluten kurva i ett plan roterar kring en axel parallell med planet; en torus är specialfallet då den slutna kurvan är en cirkel. Fredrik 4 september 2006 kl. 22.55 (CEST)[svara]
