Raketa balistike ndërkontinentale (anglisht: intercontinental ballistic missile, shk. ICBM) është një raketë balistike me rreze të largët (më shumë se 5.600 km).

Kompleksi ushtarako-industrial gjerman lëshon gjatë Luftës se dytë botërore studimet e para për një lëshues i cili mund të bartë ngarkesa ushtarake mbi një tjetër kontinent, objektivi specifik ishin Shtetet e Bashkuara, por rënia e Gjermanisë Naziste ndërpreu kërkimet dhe aleatët e shpërndanë punën e tyre.

Raketa e parë balistike ishte sovjetike R-7 Semyorka (R-7 numër 8) që zhvilloi 6.000  km më 21 gusht 1957.[1]
