Dardania, fiset dhe rrethinat

Peresadët ishin një fis ilir që jetonte në rajonin e lashtë të Ilirisë, si fqinjë [1] me Dardanët, Enkelejët dhe Sesaretët.

Disa historianë kanë sugjeruar që Peresadët nuk ishin një fis ilir i veçantë, por një pjesë e Dardanëve. [2] Madje ata dhanë edhe një personalitet të shquar i cili më vonë u bë i njohur si Bardhylis, duke themeluar edhe një dinasti e cila udhëhoqi vetë Dardanët. [3] Nga disa studiues konsiderohet se bënin pjesë në grupin e fisit ilir të Taulantëve. Hulumtime tjera në lidhje me klasifikimin e tyre i kishin identifikuar ata si fis ilir, megjithatë, kërkimet e fundit kanë përforcuar mundësinë që ata të ishin një fis me përkatësi dardano - thrakase. [4]

Vetë emërtimi i tyre është shumë afër emrit Berisades me përkatësi Thrakase [1] duke sugjeruar një origjinë të mundshme thrakase. Peresadët gjithashtu duket se kanë pasur kontakte edhe me thrakasit. [5] Strabo shkruan atë që ka të ngjarë ta ketë mësuar nga shkrimet e Hekateut të Miletit për ta, duke thënë se ata iu bashkuan dinastisë së Enkelejve ndërsa termi Sesaretët (Sesarethii) përdoret si sinonim për Peresiadët, por në të njëjtën kohë përdoret edhe për Enkelejët nga Straboni. [6] Ata jetuan dhe zotëruan zonën përreth Trebenishtës moderne pranë liqenit të Ohrit rreth shekullit VII para Krishtit, një hapësirë ndërkufitare me Maqedoninë antike, por që më vonë u tkurrën shumë duke filluar nga viti 475 para Krishtit.
