Family - To je družina operacijskega sistema, primeri vključujejo Microsoft Windows, Unix in Unix-like. Linux ni družina ampak je jedro. Vse Linux distribucije so del Unix-like družine.
Source model - To polje naj bi običajno vsebovalo "open source" ali "closed source". Ne uporabljajte "free software", "free and open source software" ali "FOSS", ker so to v glavnem licence in lahko uporabljajo "open source" razvojno metodologijo.
Kernel type - Za Linux distribucijo, naj bo nastavljeno na [[Linux jedro|Linux]]. Naj to ne bo ime distribucije.
