Ralph Asher Alpher (* 3. február 1921, Washington D.C., USA – † 12. august 2007,[1]) Austin, Texas) bol americký fyzik.
Spolu s H. Bethem a G. Gamowom uverejnil v roku 1948 teóriu o syntéze prvkov v začiatočných horúcich fázach vývoja vesmíru krátko po Veľkom tresku. V tejto práci autori predpovedali existenciu reliktového žiarenia.[2][3]
