Parantrop
Parantrop (lat. Paranthropus), neformálne robustný australopit alebo robustný australopitek, je rod z čeľade hominidi. Všetky nálezy z tohto rodu sa niekedy zaraďujú pod rod australopitek a zriedkavo naopak pod rod Homo.

- †parantrop robustný/australopitek robustný (Paranthropus robustus, Australopithecus robustus, Homo robustus) - vrátane †parantrop širokozubý/(?)australopitek širokozubý (Paranthropus crassidens, Australopithecus crassidens)
- †parantrop Boiseov/australopitek zinžantrop/(?)australopitek Boiseov/zinjantrop (Paranthropus boisei, Australopithecus boisei, Homo boisei, staršie Zinjanthropus boisei)
- †parantrop etiópsky/(?)australopitek etiópsky (Paranthropus aethiopicus, Australopithecus aethiopicus, Homo aethiopicus) - vrátane †Australopithecus/Paranthropus walkeri a †Paraustralopithecus aethiopicus; staršie zaraďované pod druh parantrop Boiseov
Olson do tohto rodu zaradil (aj?) časť nálezov, ktoré iní zaraďujú ako Australopithecus afarensis, a to pod názvom Paranthropus africanus (pozri v článku australopitek afarský).
Cela-Conde et al. 2003 výslovne klasifikuje len nálezy z tohto rodu plus druh Australopithecus africanus ako rod Australopithecus (ostatné australopitekorodé klasifikuje ako rod Praeanthropus, rod Paranthropus nepoužíva). [1]
