Paleoklimatológia je náuka, ktorá skúma klímu predošlých geologických období Zeme. Používa pri tom záznam z ľadových pokrývok, sedimentov a usadených hornín, letokruhov stromov alebo prírastkových čiar iných organizmov, ako sú koraly či lastúrniky.
