The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds (sh. Efekt gama zraka na sablasne nevene) je američki igrani film snimljen 1972. godine u režiji Paula Newmana. Predstavlja adaptaciju Pulitzerovom nagradom ovjenčane istoimene drame Paula Zindela. Glavni lik, koga tumači Newmnaova supruga Joanne Woodward, je disfunkcionalna sredovječna udovica Beatrice Hurnsdofer čiji se životni neuspjesi odražavaju na njenu buntovnu tinejdžersku kćer Ruth (koju tumači Roberta Wallach, kćer poznatog glumca Elija Wallacha), kao i mlađu Tillie (čiji lik tumači Nell Potts, kćer Newmanovih), koja spas pokušava pronaći u školskim naučnim eksperimentima. The Effect je sljedeće godine prikazan na Kanskom festivalu gdje je Woodward osvojila nagradu za najbolju glumicu.
