Marius je francuski crno-bijeli snimljen 1931. u režiji Alexandera Korde. Predstavlja adaptaciju kazališnog teksta Marcela Pagnola koji je napisao scenarij, a po žanru je kombinacija drame i romantične komedije. Radnja je smještena u Marseille, odnosno u bar koji vodi César Olivier (koga glumi Raimu) i u kome navraća cijeli niz živopisnih likova. Naslovni protagonist, koga tumači Pierre Fresnay, je Cesarov sin, koji ljubav prema ribarevoj kćeri Fanny (koju glumi Orane Demazis) pokušava pomiriti sa životnom željom da kao pomorac putuje po svijetu.

Zajedno sa originalnim filmom su istovremeno snimljene još dvije verzije - njemačka pod naslovom Zum goldenen anker i švedska pod naslovom Längtan till havet.

Sljedeće godine je snimljen nastavak pod naslovom Fanny, a 1936. i treći film pod naslovom César. Sva tri filma zajedno čine tzv. Marsejsku trilogiju.
