Istorija predmeta
Deutsch: Der Rat der Gemeinde beschloss in der Sitzung vom 26. September 1974 die Einführung des Wappens. Die Ausarbeitung erfolgte durch den Heraldiker Waldemar Mallek aus Münster in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Staatsarchiv Münster. Die Farben rot und gelb nehmen Bezug auf das Wappen der Grafen von Cappenberg, die im Mittelalter Inhaber des Oberhofes Saerbeck („curtis sorbeke") waren. Die beiden Wellenbänder versinnbildlichen Ems und Glane und die drei Ginsterblumen weisen auf die frühere Heidelandschaft um Saerbeck hin.
